SLIPRING TEFC

FEATURES

1. Energy Saving:

SD series motors are energy efficient and ideally suited for power intensive, process and other industries.

2. High Torque:

SD series cage motors have high staring and pullout torques and accelerate the load quickly. Wound
rotor motors have high pullout torques.

3. Low Noise Levels:

SD series motors have noise levels with 85dB(A) at 1 meter and conform to IS:12065.

4. Low Vibration Levels:

SD series motors conform to IS:12075 for vibration level.
5. Stator:

The cast iron stator body is robust and shock resistant. Ribs on body are of variable pitch heights so as to
have more cooling surface area. The stator is generally wound with enamelled copper wire / strip with class
"F"  insulation and windings are braced to prevent coil deformation due to stress caused by surges.
6. Rotor:

The rotor is wound, generally with enamelled copper wire or strip with class "F" insulation. End windings are
banded with non-magnetic steel wire to withstand electro-magnetic forces. For special applications high tensile
epoxy tape is employed for banding.
7. Core:

The core is made from low loss, high permeability, varnish insulated electrical grade sheet steel. Stampings
are hydraulically pressed, then clamped to form a rigid structure.
8. Treatment:

Wound stators and rotors are impregnated using polyester resin varnish having class "F" thermal
-capability.  Polyurethene paint  is made as a standard in a conveyorised painting plant. Other possible on request.
9. Shaft:

Shafts are made from high carbon steel of cross section adequate enough to provide strength and rigidity
to minimise the deflection and vibrations.
10. Bearings:

Grease lubricated antifriction bearings of same size are used at DE and NDE and can be interchanged if called
for. Bearings have 90% survival life of a minimum of 40,000 working hours for drive transmission direct
    through flexible coupling.
11.End-Shields:

End-shields on DE and NDE are identical and can be interchanged, if called for, minimizing the users inventory.
12.Terminal Box:

Terminal box with improved aesthetics is offered as standard execution. Cable terminations are
housed in a terminal box of adequate proportion having sufficient electrical clearances. The terminal
box is effectively boxes are provided with conduit entry as a standard practice. Compression glands
can be provided upon request at extra cost. Terminal boxes for frame sizes 250 and above are tested
for through fault level of 43.7 kA for 0.25 secs.

13.Brush Gear and Sliprings:
The brush gear is rated for continuous duty and is of constant pressure type. The slipring unit comprises
of phosphor bronze rings shrunk fitted on to fibre glass insulated hub.

APPLICATIONS:
SD motors are  ideal for various industrial applications like Pumps, Compressors, Fans, Crushers Mills. Conveyors
and are best suited for industrial environment conditions.

SPECIFICATION:
SD motors are rated for continuous duty (S1), Altitudes up to 1000m and ambient temperature up to 50°C.
Motors are suitable for 415 V ± 10%, 50 Hz ± 5% and combined variation  of ± 10%, 3 phase supply with
IC411/IP55 protection, Insulation class "F" and temperature rise to class "B". We can also supply motors
with IC01/IP23 protection, voltage 220/380,440/460/660V and frequency 25/50/60/ Hz.
